Strategies for Creating or Re-energizing Your Blog-Part 4

This week we’re talking about strategies for creating or re-energizing your blog.

In case you’re joining us late, you can read the first three installments in the series here, here, and here.

Here’s the final in the four-part strategy series:

STRATEGY #4: Videos

Using videos on your blog can help drive traffic. Creating your own videos can be costly or it can be inexpensive. There’s such a wide range of possibilities, there is always a way to add video to your blog, regardless of your budget. Until you can produce some videos that are exclusively your own, consider taking a series of still photographs, setting them to music, adding copy, and creating a slideshow about your business or area of expertise. You can showcase your business’ history, its people, or your products/services (again, best to focus on one product/service in each video). Another option is to take a spin around YouTube and Vimeo, where you can easily share free videos that are relative to your industry with a simple copy and paste.

And here’s an important SEO note to remember about video: YouTube and Google can’t watch or listen to your video (yet), so it’s critically important to include a fairly long and detailed description (use those keywords!) of your video to help them understand your video’s topic.
